President, Perak Indian Badminton Association 40th Perak Indian Badminton Championship 2017 Salutations and greetings! It’s the 40th year of Perak Indian Badminton Championship and I wish to congratulate all of you for being a part of this great mileage and astounding achievement!

Last year, we had tremendous support of 435 participants from all over the country. The hall was roaring with laughter and excitement from our young badminton players. This year, we welcome a total of 711 participants at a new venue – The Master Badminton Club in Jalan Kuala Kangsar, Ipoh. This amazing number of participants is simply remarkable. What a way to welcome the 40th anniversary of this championship! These budding and talented players are taking part in all 22 events.

I must congratulate my organizing committee for making this possible. The Championmship had produce many talented players in the past like K.Murali Desan and D.Jivehinthran. Now, we had discovered some new generation of very quality players like Tamilarasukumar, Mahalexchmi, Thinah, Vibiana, Mugunthen, Mooghillan and Cheerandev. This championship can be a good platform and opportunity for them to display best athletic talent and sportmanship.

For the past 39 years of hardwork and tireless efforts, I must mention a few individuals who assisted in the organization of the championship over the years. They are Mr RG. Raj, Mr Eddie Arul, Mr R. Kuselan, Mr P. Samuel, Dr P.K. Padmanabhan, Mr A. Silvanathan, Mr V. Krishnan and Mr R. Narayanan.

Lastly, the success of Perak Indian Badminton Championship is always attributed to the dedication and commitment of many - the players, parents, committee members, our benefactors and well-wishers.
